The opportunity
A strong mission ready for its next stage of growth.
The PEACE Project in Haiti had established meaningful programs, trusted relationships, and a strong commitment to community-led development. As its ambitions grew, the organization recognized that its internal systems, fundraising practices, and public communications needed to evolve with them.
Leadership wanted to strengthen donor engagement, expand the organization’s visibility, modernize its digital presence, and create a more coordinated team capable of supporting long-term growth.
Alex’s role
From fundraising advisor to coordinating force.
Alex Eaton Consulting initially joined PPH to provide strategic fundraising coaching for 20 hours per month. As Alex identified connections among fundraising, communications, governance, technology, and organizational planning, the engagement expanded to 40 hours per month.
While formally serving as a fundraising consultant, Alex increasingly operated as a fractional chief of staff—helping leadership prioritize opportunities, coordinate contributors, maintain momentum, and connect day-to-day activity with a longer-term growth strategy.
Rather than treating fundraising as an isolated activity, Alex helped PPH build the organizational foundation that effective fundraising requires.
The approach
Connect strategy, people, systems, and execution.
Strengthen fundraising systems
Alex reviewed the organization’s donor communications and CRM practices, identified opportunities to improve stewardship, and developed campaigns for re-engaging recurring donors and expanding the donor community.
Build a coordinated growth team
Alex brought together complementary expertise in fundraising, information technology, website development, and social media. He coordinated his work with IT consultant Chris Wubbels and introduced Guatemala-based digital communications specialist Andrea Toledo to support the website and social-media strategy.
Improve organizational readiness
Alex helped leadership strengthen financial oversight, governance practices, documentation, and internal accountability so that the organization would be better prepared for sustainable growth.
Translate field impact into donor engagement
He helped develop a more consistent process for gathering stories, photographs, interviews, and program updates from Haiti and converting them into meaningful donor communications.

The continuing work
Building the capacity required for what comes next.
The partnership remains active. Current priorities include completing the organization’s new website, establishing consistent digital communications, strengthening governance and fundraising systems, and translating PPH’s long-term vision into an actionable growth plan.
The engagement demonstrates how strategic fundraising support can become a catalyst for broader organizational development—creating the clarity, coordination, and capacity that sustainable growth requires.
Alex entered as a fundraising consultant, recognized that growth required more than fundraising advice, and became the coordinating force connecting strategy, people, systems, and execution.
“Your involvement is key to my enthusiasm for PPH. For me, you bring a completely new level of legitimacy to this. You’re smart, experienced, and professional.”
